a very, merry
christmas
to you!
if you’ve been here for a while,
you’ll remember that last year,
we got one of the most incredible christmas gifts.
well guess what?
this year, i received another one.
L’s receptive language (going in)
far outweighs his
expressive language (coming out).
he has signed “daddy” for many, many months now
and says “dada” effortlessly.
but “mommy”?
nope.
nothing.
i joke that the only reason
he would need to say my name
would be if i ever wasn’t around him.
because i am always around.
L doesn’t even feel the need to sign my name.
he hasn’t done it.
ever.
but this christmas,
at three and a half,
our little guy decided
that he wanted to master saying “mom.”
which he has.
and oh, how my heart bursts.
how it bursts.
On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary,
and they bowed down and worshiped him.
Then they opened their treasures and presented him
with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
