keeping things simple.

it’s really easy for me
to try
to do too much.

i don’t know if it’s the distraction
that i enjoy
or maybe i convince myself
that i can do a lot of things at once
(which i absolutely cannot).

but i am really trying
to keep things simple
around here.

i just wrote up my new weekly chore list
because i was failing
big time
at my last one.

it’s short
and simple.
one thing per day.
that sounds doable, right?
my hope and prayer
is that it distracts me less
and blesses my family more.

i’ll be sure to let you know
how it works out.

you need to read
this post
on how every resolution
is fruitless without Christ.

and my absolute new favorite blogger/writer is
sarah mae.
ohmygoodnessgracious.
she gave me the idea
to allow myself to have a cup of coffee
if and only if
i get up early.
her new book,
desperate
(with Sally Clarkson)
is. a. must. read.

May God himself,
the God of peace,
sanctify you through and through.
May your whole spirit,
soul and body
be kept blameless at
the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.
1 Thessalonians 4:23-24
