i have been thinking a lot
about my word for this year.
i actually wasn’t sure i was going to do it.
but then,
the word came to me.
and i knew that this was it.
this was the word for this year.
delight.
delight is my word for 2013.
i spend so much of my time focusing on
what has happened and
even more-so,
what may happen.
but delight is just what
this year needs to be about.
i will not allow the fear of what could be
take over what life is like right now.
with my Savior by my side.
i will delight in this moment.
and the next.
and the next after that.
a little while ago we decided
to take the kids down to the beach
in the evening.
we stayed for the most glorious sunset
(one of the most incredible
ones i have ever, ever seen).
with our hot chocolate in hand
and surrounded by each other,
we delighted.
The Lord your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing.”
