gratitude
some moments that have been delighting my heart lately.
all of her unbelievable sewed creations
when they open the window shade on the plane (always)
only being in charge of myself for a few hours
planes that leave on time
sitting next to her on the shortest flight ever
having one job: don’t let the quillow touch the ground. gladly
the most perfect ice cream shirt ever, thanks, dirty harry
luke sleeping with her as a pillow (even though he initially refused)
homemade sourdough hamburger buns now in the mix
not having fries with the meal
and all agreeing that it is the right thing to do
long lingering hugs
seeing how being patient is such a very good thing
other moms to cry with
receiving prayer even though i was supposed to give it
sobbing
feeling the feelings (thank you, henry)
the sweet ones who checked up on me and finn
danny experiencing highs and lows in such a short period of time: such a nugget of real life
their grand goal of watching survivor season 1 together

There’s such beauty in the way you gather these small, fleeting pieces of life—threads of ordinary grace stitched into something eternal. Gratitude feels like its own kind of prayer here.
