my dad knows me so well.

last week,
my dad dropped off a gorgeous basil plant at my house.
and with it he said these words:
“here is a basil plant for you to kill.”
and it’s the truth.

i have tried and tried and tried
but i cannot keep those things alive.
good thing they sell them at tj’s for $2.99!

i typically just try to make
a lot of things with fresh basil
(seriously, my favorite)
until the stem inevitably turns brown.
(have you tried basil in your lemonade, by the way?
absolutely scrumptious.)

by the way, you’ve got to check out my dad’s blog.

but, my sister gave me this succulent
because i am pretty sure those are really hard to kill.
i’ll be sure to let you know how long it lasts.
(i do not, however, suggest that you put succulents in your lemonade.)

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart,
as working for the Lord, not for human masters.
