pre-christmas + christmas part 1

there is so much to say.
there is so much to share.
there is so much life that we have lived.

but i don’t even know where to start.

so i will start here,
at the beginning of our Christmas adventures,
in december.

i was so burned out from taking pictures for other people
that i didn’t take many of our normal mundane moments
the past few months.
so, here are the highlights of when i did snap some.

every year, on D’s birthday,
he wants to go and get our Christmas tree.

and we go ice skating.
this year was a first,
in that we all got to skate.

including this guy.
who was begging to get out there on the ice.
we’re noticing that he wants to do what everyone else is doing
much more than he ever has before.
and it is oh-so special when that happens.

and then we had our Christmas.
Christmas number one.

K got a giant bubble wand and went outside to use it right away.
there wasn’t any wind and she couldn’t quite get the hang of
how to move in the right way to get the bubbles out,
so B (the most amazing dad) plugged in a fan on our front lawn.

and that was our Christmas.
simple, lovely, calm, just right.

Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober,
set your hope on the grace to be brought to you
when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.
1 Peter 1:13
